You may have seen some campers & vehicles parked on our property and have questions. We hope this helps answer them. Feel free to contact us if you have any further inquiries.
Around 2019 we noticed that the homeless population in Manteca was increasing rapidly. As a church, we were moved to help as we were able. Through our outreach efforts we stumbled upon an interesting people group that few were shedding light on. It was those who were living in their vehicles or campers, but had no safe place to park.
In collaboration with LoveINC Manteca, and with the blessing of the City of Manteca, we came up with a system to do our part to help these individuals. This system involves an initial referral, intake interviews by both Love INC Manteca as well as by our Elders, case management and code of conduct agreement.
None of our ‘residents’ are unknown individuals. Every single one has gone through the screening process and is accountable to the code of conduct agreement.
We have learned that a healthy functioning capacity for us, given our property and neighborhood, is 4 Safe Parking Spaces. At the moment we are providing a safe place for 5 adults.
While we may not be able to help everyone, we are certainly able to help someone. Our hope is to help the city of Manteca in some small way deal with the growing issue of homelessness.
Please note that we are not taking any more residents at this time due to our planning for The Way Veteran Village (Tiny Home Project).
